Harris Bond, a native of Yazoo City, MS, has been involved in pastoral ministry for 15 years.  He is a graduate of Auburn University and Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC (M.Div.).  While serving as the Assistant Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni, MS he met Laura Beth Shields, a graduate of Delta State University who was then living & working in the Jackson area. They married in 2008 and just 3 months later moved to Sylacauga, Alabama where Harris served as the Pastor of Knollwood Presbyterian Church. After 10+ years of proclaiming Christ and serving among a community they love--and three kids later!—they have seen the Lord equipping them and calling them back to the Delta through the Presbytery of Mississippi Valley to the work of Church Planting. They have a passion for the Gospel, the local church and the university setting through their home churches and their love for RUF.

The Bond’s are currently planting in Monroe, Louisiana.

About the Plant

We long to see a regional church planting ministry begun in Monroe, LA, where people of all walks of life are being reached for Christ, renewed in Christ, and shepherded to serve in His Kingdom.  Jesus cried out in John 7:37-38, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Oh to see a new Gospel work where sinners find in Christ alone the fountain of living waters and then overflow in God-centered worship, in “one-anothering” community, and on His mission to engage all areas of this city with the Gospel of the Kingdom, especially to seek and to save the lost.
